Street Musicians in Kota Tua Facilitated

Kota Tua Management Unit (UPK) encourages tens of street musicians in Kota Tua to be a part of the local music communities. Later on, only those communities will be allowed to perform in Kota Tua, West Jakarta.

We facilitate them by providing four spots to perform around Fatahillah Square from 4 PM to 10 PM

"We want music communities to be able to show their music skills in an organized way. So, we facilitate them by providing four spots to perform around Fatahillah Square from 4 PM to 10 PM," explained Kota Tua UPK Head, Norviadi S. Husodo, Monday (5/6).

He conveyed, there are four music communities in Kota Tua. Those are Komunitas Akustik Kota Tua, Musisi Kota Tua Bersatu (MKB), Musisi Lesehan (Mules), and single band community.

In order to be a part of the communities, he continued, street musicians should have adequate music skills, knowledge, and attitude. They should also ready to follow the rules given by Kota Tua UPK.

"This year, we plan to have five music communities. I hope their skills in music to be better as they perform more often. Thus Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department would probably invite them to perform in prestigious events," he stated.
